Madhya Pradesh
One of the country’s largest states by area, located in ‘the belly button’ of India, Madhya Pradesh boasts a wide variety of national parks and historic monuments. Despite this, it is far less frequented than its popular neighbour to the west, Rajasthan. The elusive tiger can be spotted in Kanha, Bandhavgarh, Pench, and Panna National Parks whilst the 10th century Hindu and Jain temples, renowned for their erotic carvings, are a fascinating visit. Learn about the state’s vibrant crafts traditions in Maheshwar and the fascinating tribal communities of Chhattisgarh. An excellent visit for those who have “seen it all” in India and best visited between the months of October and March.
